Animal Husbandry

Animal husbandry is the branch of agriculture where animals are reared, bred and raised for meat, fiber, eggs, milk and other food products. A large number of farmers are dependent animal husbandry for their livelihood.
After working in this field we got information from the farmers that they are getting many benefits such as:

  • It helps in proper management of animals.
  • It helps economically thereby increases standards of living.
  • It helps in getting different animal products such as milk, eggs, meat etc.
  • It helps in increasing the fertility of soil when the animal waste are used as manure.

The programme we started to initiated first was “Asset Building Project” here by Asset we meant to explain the animal which are going to be future assets for the farmers. The programme was supported by Bani Jagtiani Trust, New Delhi.

Seeing its success National Diary Research Institute (NDRI), Kalyani came forward to support the programme. We then started the “Public Private Partnership” or PPP model for continuation of this project for the villagers.

The programme is still running and hundreds of families have been sustaining through this.
